Frequently Asked Questions

Rogers / RF PCB FAQ

Ask a specialist
01What is the difference between Rogers and FR-4 for RF?

Rogers substrates have much lower Df (loss tangent) than FR-4 — typically 0.001–0.004 vs 0.02 for FR-4. At 10 GHz+, FR-4 dissipates 5–20× more signal energy as heat, degrading link budget.

02Can I hybrid a Rogers outer layer with FR-4 inner?

Yes — hybrid stack-ups are common for cost optimization. RF signals route on the Rogers outer layer; digital control and power on FR-4 inner layers. We bond with a compatible prepreg and confirm impedance with Polar simulation.

03Do you provide Polar impedance stack-ups?

Yes. Every Rogers / RF quote includes a Polar Si9000 controlled-impedance stack-up PDF. Coupon test results ship with each panel.

04What is your lead time for Rogers PCBs?

Standard Rogers 4-layer: 7–10 business days. Hybrid stack-up: 10–15 days. mmWave (RO3003 / RT-duroid) with copper-filled vias: 15–20 days.
